Searching for a route is a highly performing service calculating the route between a start and a target with a possibility to set 'via points'. It supports calculation of route for personal as well as freight transport taking its physical and legislative restrictions into consideration. The output covers basic data on route distance and time, itinerary in basic (navigation) view or detailed view as well as detailed geometry of the route in a map window.

Basic functions

• Calculation type selection: fastest route, shortest route.
• Profiles: basic predefined profiles – Car, Van, Truck, Bus, Pedestrian.
• Profiles: predefined profiles for trucks – up to 7.5 tons, up to 12.5 tons and over 12.5 tons.
• User profiles.
• Route plan wizard: unlimited number of via points; setting a route in a map; setting a route using 'search in map' function etc.).
• Searching for addresses, streets, seats, zip codes within Europe.
• Adding, removal or change of route points sequence.
• Settings may be saved in favorites.
• Selection of departure time.
• Itinerary shows a complete description of route - towns, streets, road numbers, distances, times.
• Itinerary details - summary of distances and times based on transit countries or via points on the route.
• Road Control operates in Europe - it makes use of updated and accurate HERE (Navteq)input data.

Vehicle profiles - basic settings

• Each vehicle profile covers basic settings (how to deal with toll roads, one-way roads etc.) and speed settings.
• Option to apply / ignore one-way road direction.
• Setting of toll roads by-passing.
• Extended options for turning in the road maneuver.
• Restrictions due to local legislation (at the level of individual countries).
• Special types of vehicles: taxi, emergency vehicle, supply vehicle.
• Ignoring passing clearance limits / restrictions.

Vehicle profiles - extension for freight transport

• Selected profiles of transport vehicles (mainly freight vehicles, vans etc.) offer extended 'Searching for a route' function with implementation of specific parameters and restrictions applicable to freight transport with regard to freight specification (hazardous materials, special freights) and physical attributes of vehicle (weight, height, length, number of axles…).
• Physical parameters: weight, height, width, length, kingpin-to-rear-axle distance, weight per axle, number of trailers, number of axles.
• Freight specification (so called HAZMAT attributes), including:
• Hazardous materials: explosives, gas, flammable substances, organic substances, poisons, radioactive substances, caustic substances, substances harmful to water,…
• Special transport means: vehicles with cooling unit, transport of cars, loads with limited shelf life / durability
• Permit for transport of hazardous materials
